Graphite FOAM

Graphite Foam is a open-cell material engineered for exceptional thermal management, flame resistance, and acoustic performance. Derived from expandable graphite, this foam forms a protective char layer when exposed to high temperatures, significantly reducing flame spread, smoke generation, and toxic emissions. Its unique cellular structure allows for efficient heat dissipation and sound absorption, making it a trusted solution in safety-critical and performance-driven environments.

Description

The foam’s low density, high porosity, and thermal stability make it ideal for industries such as aerospace, railway, automotive, construction, electronics, and architectural acoustics. In aerospace and railway seating, graphite foam meets stringent fire safety standards including ATS 1000.01, FAR 25.853, and EN45545, supporting passenger protection and regulatory compliance. In building and construction, it is used in acoustic panels, anechoic chambers, and fire-rated insulation systems to enhance comfort and safety in public and commercial spaces.

Graphite foam also plays a vital role in electronics and industrial enclosures, where its thermal properties help manage heat loads in confined systems. Its ability to maintain structural integrity without melting or dripping under high heat makes it suitable for high-risk zones such as control panels, battery housings, and equipment casings.

Available in flexible and semi-rigid formats, graphite foam can be fabricated through die-cutting, lamination, molding, and adhesive bonding, allowing seamless integration into automated production lines and custom assemblies. It is supplied in various densities and thicknesses, and can be tailored to meet international standards including RoHS, REACH, UL 94, and BS 7176 for high-hazard seating environments.
