CR Foam

Chloroprene FOAM (CR FOAM)

Chloroprene Rubber Foam (CR Foam), commonly known as neoprene foam, is a closed-cell synthetic elastomer distinguished by its excellent resistance to oil, heat, flame, and weathering. Engineered from polychloroprene, this material offers a unique balance of mechanical strength, flexibility, and environmental durability, making it a trusted solution across demanding industrial and consumer applications.

Description

CR foam’s inherent flame-retardant and self-extinguishing properties make it ideal for use in environments where fire safety is paramount, such as automotive interiors, HVAC systems, and industrial enclosures. Its ability to withstand a wide temperature range and resist degradation from UV exposure, ozone, and moisture supports long-term performance in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Industries that benefit most from CR foam include automotive, construction, marine, electronics, medical, and sports equipment. In automotive applications, CR foam is used for gaskets, seals, vibration dampers, and thermal insulation components. The construction sector utilizes it for acoustic panels, expansion joint fillers, and waterproofing membranes. Marine applications rely on its saltwater resistance for buoyancy aids and deck padding, while electronics manufacturers incorporate CR foam into enclosures and shock-absorbing layers to protect sensitive components.

In the medical and sports sectors, CR foam is valued for its comfort, flexibility, and skin-safe properties, appearing in orthopedic braces, wetsuits, protective pads, and fitness gear. Its cushioning and rebound characteristics also support ergonomic designs in consumer goods and wearable accessories.

CR foam is easily fabricated through die-cutting, lamination, molding, and adhesive bonding, allowing precise integration into automated production lines and custom assemblies. It is available in various densities, hardness levels, and thicknesses, and can be tailored to meet international standards including RoHS, REACH, and UL 94.
