Reticulated Foam

Reticulated foam

Reticulated foam is a highly porous, open-cell material engineered for filtration, fluid management, and acoustic absorption across a wide range of industrial and consumer applications. Produced through a specialized reticulation process that removes the cell membranes of conventional polyurethane foam, it results in a net-like skeletal structure that allows air, moisture, and sound waves to pass through freely.

Description

This foam is distinguished by its lightweight composition, rapid drying capability, and resistance to mildew, and chemical degradation, making it ideal for environments requiring breathability and moisture control. Its customizable pore size (measured in PPIpores per inch) enables precise tuning for specific performance needs, from coarse filtration to fine acoustic damping.

Industries that benefit most from reticulated foam include automotive, electronics, medical, HVAC, consumer goods, marine, and cosmetics. In automotive and HVAC systems, it is used for air filtration, vibration damping, and sound control. Electronics manufacturers rely on its airflow and cushioning properties for fan filters, speaker grills, and device enclosures. Medical and cosmetic applications include wound dressings, fluid reservoirs, and applicators, while marine and outdoor equipment utilize its quick-drying and anti-microbial features in seating, flotation aids, and cleaning products.

Reticulated foam is easily fabricated through die-cutting, lamination, and adhesive bonding, and is available in polyester or polyether variants depending on the required chemical resistance and flexibility. It can be supplied in sheets, rolls, or custom shapes, and tailored to meet international standards including RoHS, REACH, and UL 94.
